In a Funk

First off, I have a post up over at my Constance. It’s been such a long time, you’ve probably forgotten all about Constance, haven’t you? If you need a reminder – feel free to comment or email. As this blog becomes more public, I sometimes need the option of having a more personal place to talk.
Anyway – I’m in a bit of a funk. Not sure why exactly, but I think there are a lot of things contributing to it. I’m so much in a funk that I haven’t even been getting mad at the douchebags and assholes. I know – what is up with that??
I love Awesome Company, but I recently was given on endless, ongoing task that I hate and that is making it very hard for me to stay chipper during working hours. It’s weird – I am usually pretty hard to discourage when it comes to work stuff, but this is like some kind of allergy or something. I cringe at the thought. But I work for the best company in the world ever for the best bosses in the world ever and I just need to suck it up and get over it. But it definitely weighs on me and I am sure it’s contributing to the funk.
You know how there are old boyfriends/girlfriends in your past that you still think about? I mean, not that you still want them or anything, but we all play the remember when/what if game – it’s human nature. Well, anyway, I have discovered a couple recently on facebook. One just joined a Sarah Palin love group. Cue needle across record sound. Dreamy, lovesick memories replaced by “EWWWWWWWWW!”.
Oh, and speaking of old boyfriend, I have noticed a disturbing trend of many of my old boyfriends starting to look like K-Fed. I’m not sure what this means, but it can’t be good.
Help get me out of the funk – tell me something funny, make me laugh, ask me a question so I have something to write about. Anything to ward off the funk!!

Forty-sdjhfkjsdhfkjsdh year old mom of 2 - a 18 year old boy and a 11 year old girl. I love them very much, but they drive me crazy. I'm married and work full-time. I'm not sure which of these is the most exhausting, but probably the husband. I'm opinionated. I'm outspoken. I'm loud. I'm an over-sharer. I think Tom Cruise is a jackass. I like to say jackass. I like to swear, period. Fuckers. I love to read. I struggle with my weight. I love my job. I dress my pets up and ridicule them regularly. I am not afraid to cut my hair and I don't understand people who are. I hate getting old. I love to laugh. Make me laugh, OK?

  1. I think we bloggers are starting to get on the same cycle or something, because I've noticed all of us posting about being in a funk. Is there such a thing as Blogger PMS?

  2. @Kim Funny you say that… I was thinking the same thing. I've been in a horrible funk lately, and I can't just attribute it to starting the Chantix, either. @Gina I would love to try and lift your spirits, but if the past 48 hours of my life are any indication of what's to come, my attempts would likely result in some major catastrophe for you… So I'm going to wave from my side of the Mason Dixon line and hope things get better until the Dark Clouds scoot away.Hey, if you want to get really angry and use that anger to lash out, go read Marvel Divas… It sure did crystalize my anger yesterday. :)*hugs*

  3. Funks totally suck duck butts. I'm trying to crawl out of one myself. And as for the "what if" ex-boyfriends? I'm right there with you, sister. I met back up with on after ten years of wondering "what if…" and it effectively killed my infatuation with him. Wow, all I could think was how amazing it is that some people age at an accelerated speed when they don't take care of themselves.

  4. Even tho my 1st love from 10 yrs ago (who i only see in pics) looks frumpy and overweight now and used to be super hot, I still have the "what ifs". He shows up in my dreams at random- so annoying! To get over the funks watch Bon Qui Qui on youtube. She cures all that ails me.

  5. I'm detecting a pattern here for sure as I too have been in a funk for far too long now. If you find a way to lift it, give me a heads up will ya?

  6. What is this Constance of which you speak??My last bf before hubby is on fb. It's still hard to stop thinking what-if. It just would've been a totally different life. And I love my life now so I'm (pretty much) over it. 🙂
